CAFETERIA WORKERS’ SALARY AGREEMENT
2012-2015
Pursuant to Chapter 123 Public Laws of New Jersey 1974, the Cliffside Park Board of Education hereby recognizes the Cliffside Park Cafeteria Workers’ Association as the sole representative for collective negotiations concerning the terms and conditions of employment for all cafeteria workers in the Cliffside Park school system.
ARTICLE I - SALARIES
During the school year 2012-2013 each cafeteria worker will receive an increase of $0.60 per hour over the salary received during the previous school year. During the school year 2013-2014 each cafeteria worker will receive an increase of $0.60 per hour over the salary received during the previous school year. During the school year 2014-2015 each cafeteria worker will receive an increase of $0.60 per hour over the salary received during the previous school year.
During the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 the beginning salary for new cafeteria workers will be $7.50 per hour.
During the school year 2012-2013 each breakfast/lunch aide will receive an increase of $0.25 per hour over the salary received during the previous school year. During the school year 2013-2014 each breakfast/lunch aide will receive an increase of $0.25 per hour over the salary received during the previous school year. During the school year 2014-2015 each breakfast/lunch aide will receive an increase of $0.25 per hour over the salary received during the previous school year.
During the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 the beginning salary for new breakfast/lunch aides will be $7.50 per hour.
E. During the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 there will be an additional stipend of $450 for the following workers with added responsibility: High School Cook, High School Cashier, Middle School Manager, Middle School Cashier and an additional stipend of $600 for the following workers with added responsibility: High School Manager and Elementary Manager.
Salaries will be calculated on a 184 working days per year basis for all full-time employees covered by this agreement.
Cafeteria workers who have been employed by the Cliffside Park Board of Education for eight (8) years but less than thirteen (13) years, will receive an additional sum of $600.00 in their yearly salary for the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
Cafeteria workers who have been employed by the Cliffside Park Board of Education for thirteen (13) or more years, will receive an additional sum of $700.00 in the yearly salary for the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
ARTICLE II - HEALTH INSURANCE
During the term of this Agreement, the Cliffside Park Board of Education will provide the health care insurance protection designated below:
For all full-time employees covered by this Agreement who remain in the employ of the Board of Education for the applicable fiscal years of 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015, the Board will make payments of full individual or full family insurance premiums as appropriated in the SEHBP-NJ Direct 10 or an equivalent health plan.
For all full-time employees covered by this Agreement who remain in the employ of the Board of Education for the applicable fiscal years of 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015, the Board will make payments of full individual or full family insurance premiums as appropriated in the Delta Dental Plan of New Jersey or an equivalent dental plan.
For all full-time employees covered by this Agreement who remain in the employ of the Board of Education for the applicable fiscal years of 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015, the Board will make payments of full individual or full family insurance premiums as appropriated in the BeneCard Prescription Plan or an equivalent prescription plan for all cafeteria workers and their dependents where applicable.
For all full-time employees covered by this Agreement who remain in the employ of the Board of Education for the applicable fiscal years of 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015, the Board will make payments of full individual or full family insurance premiums as appropriated in the Vision Service Plan or an equivalent optical plan.

ARTICLE III - SICK LEAVE, Cont.:
SICK LEAVE
During the terms of this within Agreement, all employees covered by the within agreement will be allowed during the school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 sick leave as follows:
Full-time employees will receive ten (10) days sick leave for each school year.
Part time employees will receive five (5) days sick leave for each school year beginning July 2007.
Said sick leave for all full-time employees will be cumulative and any such sick leave that remains unutilized at the end of any year within this agreement will be carried from year to year and until it is used in any such subsequent years.
Part time employees sick leave will not be cumulative.
RETIREMENT COMPENSATION
Any benefited cafeteria workers who has been employed for 10 full years with the Cliffside Park Board of Education and retires while employed by the Cliffside Park Board of Education will receive compensation for unused sick days. A Cafeteria Worker will receive $75.00 for every two (2) unused sick days. The total maximum dollar amount a Cafeteria Worker can receive is $4500.00
ARTICLE IV - PERSONAL LEAVE
During the term of the within Agreement, all full-time employees covered by the within Agreement will be allowed, during the years of the within Agreement, up to three (3) personal leave days. These days shall be allowed to be utilized with an explanation required for any of the following reasons:
Recognition of a Religious holiday.
Urgent personal business and emergencies which cannot be handled outside of school hours.
Leave, because of death of a relative other than in the immediate family, may be granted for one (1) day with full pay. In unusual circumstances a close friend could be considered in this category, at the discretion of the Cafeteria Director and the Superintendent of Schools.
Leave because of a death of a member of the immediate family, may be granted for five (5) days with full compensation for full and part time aides beginning September 1, 2007. Immediate family shall include: mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister, brother, husband, wife and children.

The personal leave provided for herein will not be cumulative. Applications for personal leave are to be made in writing and, except as otherwise provided in the ARTICLE, must state the reason that such leave is necessary. Application must be made at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the day requested, except in emergencies. Application will be submitted to the Superintendent, whose approval, except as otherwise provided in the ARTICLE, must be obtained before leave can be taken.
ARTICLE V - UNIFORMS
As of the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year, and during the term of this Agreement, the Cliffside Park Board of Education will provide an amount of $100.00 per year for the purchase of uniforms to each full-time cafeteria employee. The uniforms will be purchased at a store of the employee’s choice and will be determined by the Cafeteria Director with approval of the Board.
ARTICLE VI - DURATION OF AGREEMENT
This Agreement will be effective as of July 1, 2012 and will continue in effect until June 30, 2015.
